Blown Coextrusion

Blown multilayer barrier films can be produced with the blown coextrusion technology. Different resins supplied from a number of extruders are bonded together through a die. The composite structure is then blown up into a "bubble". When the bubble has cooled sufficiently, it is collapsed between rollers and wound onto a drum.
The blown material can further be transformed by thermoforming, lamination or printing.

EVAL™ resins for blown coextrusion

During the blown film coextrusion process, the different polymers that enter in the composite structure, are blown under the melt state. The film will be stretched in a non-orienting range. The films are cooled during the stretching operation. EVAL™ resins with a low melt flow rate can be blown coextruded.
